Volunteering

MVDC recognises the great benefits that volunteers bring to an organisation, and the bridges that they build between the organisation and the local community. There are a number of departments that deliver services and projects within the community that are supported by volunteers. MVDC aims to provide a fair, safe, enjoyable and empowering experiences for all its volunteers. The attached Policy and supporting documentation below set out the framework for MVDC to involve volunteers and the minimum standards that managers and volunteers must adhere to when undertaking activities on behalf of MVDC.

The Volunteering Policy sets out the standards and process for recruiting, selecting, inducting and training volunteers to undertake activities on behalf of MVDC.

Volunteers can apply for advertised placements using the MVDC Volunteer Application Form

The following documentation must be completed when any new volunteers are recruited, in line with the above policy:

Volunteers must also familiarise themselves with the Equalities Statement & Objectives and the Code of Conduct and Respect at Work Policies. It should be recorded that they have read and understood these policies on the Volunteers Starter Checklist.
