QGIS OS Map Update

The OS base maps that you use are currently provided to us free of charge through an agreement that Public Authorities have with Ordnance Survey. The provision of these services is going to change as of 31 March and you therefore need to update your QGIS to allow you to access the new suite of maps. The change is a very simple one and you should notice very little difference, if any, between the maps you are using now and the maps you will be using in the future.

The instructions on how to update your maps are included in the attachment below.

I would also like to draw your attention to the roll out of a new Long Term Release of QGIS that will be taking place on Monday 19 April. This will again require you to undertake some simple changes to allow the update to work and I will be in touch nearer the date with the details.

If you need any assistance, please email me at jonathan.keepen@molevalley.gov.uk or you can call me on Teams if you are feeling lucky.

Please do not email Sameer or log a call with the Servicedesk as he is no longer responsible for this piece of software. Any GIS queries should be directed to me for the time being.
