Maternity Leave

There are a few key things to remember when you read about your maternity entitlement:

  • It doesn’t matter if you work full-time or part-time, the same rights apply.
  • The entitlements contained in this policy apply to mothers who have a premature baby and to all mothers who have a live birth, or a stillbirth, from week 24 onwards.
  • You have the same maternity rights if you are an employee on a fixed term or temporary contract. If you are a casual you may have an entitlement to Maternity Allowance.

Please notify HR via the HR Servicedesk of maternity leave. See information here.

Risk Assessment for Expectant & New Mothers – this risk assessment should be used as a live document and reviewed during pregnancy and on return to work to ensure that any identified risks and related measures are kept relevant and up to date. As a minimum assessments and reviews should take place when you notify your manager that you are pregnant; have given birth in the last 6 months and/or are breast feeding.
