Staff Hub

Hello everyone!

It’s us Staff Hub.

As a group of MVDC employees we are consulted on potential changes, topical issues, projects or policies in the organisation. We also act as the Health and Safety committee for the Council. In addition, we put forward our own ideas and any ideas that colleagues bring to us for potential projects or positive changes at MVDC. The group works in partnership with senior managers to discuss progress and relevant issues.

Our main focus is on working with SLT to consult on upcoming staff policies and health and safety protocols. We represent the views of staff and we will also encourage teams working on projects that promote wellbeing. We want to focus on the most beneficial actions we can take to support staff at MVDC.

We are super keen to involve more members in Staff Hub as we care about the opinions and ideas of all employees. Staff Hub gives anyone the platform to voice what they’d like to share. Involvement and commitment is very flexible and you may choose when you’d like to participate or even observe our meetings.

Everyone and anyone is welcome.

If you’d like to get involved or have any questions feel free to email StaffHub@molevalley.gov.uk

After each meeting an update is provided on Molly, setting out what items were taken to the meeting and any new issues which were discussed. You can also approach any member of the group for an informal chat if you would like to contribute ideas or find out a bit more about what the group does.

Projects

Members of the Staff Hub have the opportunity to work on specific projects. Projects which are ongoing or we have worked on in the past are:

Reward and Recognition

Looking at ways good work can be recognised and rewarded, including organising social events for staff.

Use of Emails

Many people find emails stressful and difficult to manage alongside their day to day work. Reducing the Stress of Emails looks at how emails are used and ways that this can be improved to reduce the impact on employee wellbeing and productivity.

Answering Phones

Many people find phones and voicemail stressful and difficult to manage alongside their day to day work. Answering phones looks at how officers can balance the need to provide excellent customer service without having a negative effect on productivity.

Wellbeing

In line with MVDC’s OD Strategy 2019 – 22 (of which the main purpose is making MVDC a great place to work) Staff Hub are working on a number of wellbeing initiatives, as well as regular updates on Molly.
