Pregnancy Related Wellbeing

Both physical and mental wellbeing during pregnancy is important for keeping you and your baby happy and healthy. There are a number of things you need to discuss with your manager so that they are best able to support you. As a first step and to help you to keep safe at work please ask your manager to complete a Risk Assessment For Expectant & New Mothers, this risk assessment should be used as a live document and reviewed during pregnancy and on return to work to ensure that any identified risks and related measures are kept relevant and up to date. As a minimum assessments and reviews should take place when you notify your manager that you are pregnant; have given birth in the last 6 months and/or are breast feeding.

In addition, following the Covid19 pandemic, a specific occupational health risk assessment will need to be completed as soon as you are 26 week’s pregnant. Talk to your manager about doing this, if necessary, well before the relevant date.
