On 28th September 2021, Mole Valley District Council’s Cabinet considered a report outlining the council’s financial position as at the end of July 2021.
Councillor Bridget Kendrick, Cabinet Member for Finance, said: “Last year (2020/21) had been hugely challenging for us due to Covid in terms of maintaining existing services, delivering new support to residents; including increased demand for housing and helping businesses to survive through administering £37m of government grants. This, coupled with reduced income from car parks, Dorking Halls and licensing, put significant pressure on our budgets. Despite this, careful use of external grant funding and prudent budget management ensured that we did not need to draw any funding from our reserves during 2020/21.
