Plays In The Park – this weekend!

The sun is set to shine on Dorking Halls’ open air summer theatre weekend Plays in the Park this weekend, 16-18 July!

The event takes place at Meadowbank in Dorking and features a brand new line-up of shows for all ages, including drama, comedy and children’s theatre. Tickets are still available for most shows but selling fast.

The weekend kicks off on Friday 16 July at 7pm with The Pantaloons and their delightfully innovative and hilarious new adaptation of Jane Austen’s witty and romantic masterpiece Pride and Prejudice.

On Saturday 17 July at 2pm Heartbreak Productions take to the stage with an adaptation of David Walliams’ best-selling children’s book Mr Stink (NOW SOLD OUT) . Packed with fun, humour and a heart-warming message, this touching tale provides the perfect family entertainment.

See some of the hottest new talent on the comedy circuit alfresco with the Halls’ popular comedy club Screaming Blue Murder at 7pm. The line-up includes Jonny Awsum, Wendy Wason, Otiz Cannelloni and long-standing compere Howard Read.

Due to popular demand Kick in the Head Theatre return to the Halls’ outdoor stage with their new production of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland on Sunday 18 July at 11am. There will be three actors, multiple characters and one classic story that’s high in energy, humour and audience participation.

The weekend with finish in style with BlackBox Theatre Company’s production of Noel Coward’s timeless comedy classic, Blithe Spirit. Charles Condomine has two wives – one most certainly living and the other most certainly dead. After an eventful séance held by the eccentric Madame Arcati, the ghost of his first wife has come to visit. What could possibly go wrong?

All staff are entitled to the Friends discount, so adults go for £12.50 and children £8.50. To claim, book through the box office by calling 01306 881717.

All ticket holders need to bring is something to sit on. Chairs are recommended as they provide the best view. The audience will be allocated a socially-distanced pitch on arrival and there will be plenty of food and drink on offer, as well as toilets.
