Park For Free After Three Dorking Initiative

The Park for Free After Three Dorking initiative will be relaunched as soon as all non-essential shops in the town can reopen, and will run for two months.

The Dorking Town Partnership-funded initiative allows free parking every Friday from 3pm in St Martin’s Walk, Wathen Road, Southside and West Street car parks.

The scheme, which was first launched in October 2020, was due to run until 29 January 2021, but was paused when Mole Valley entered Tier Four restrictions on 20 December 2020.

The initiative is designed to encourage residents to shop locally and support the town’s businesses.

Charlotte Whitaker, Dorking Town Partnership Manager, commented: ‘We look forward to relaunching this initiative in partnership with Mole Valley District Council when we are able to safely welcome shoppers back into the town centre to enjoy the array of independent businesses.”

Councillor Clayton Wellman, Cabinet Member for Sustainable Economy, said: “We must do everything we can to support the local economy in these challenging times. We are looking forward to seeing every business in Mole Valley reopen as soon as it is safe to do so.
