Councillor Stephen Cooksey, Leader of Mole Valley District Council, said: “Having been in the new National Lockdown for over a week, I do hope that everyone is doing everything that they can to keep safe and well. That of course means staying at home unless you absolutely have to leave. It is important to stress once again given the continued rise of cases across the country that it is illegal to be outside of your home, with very few exemptions allowing you to do so.
“To think of it another way, you should consider your front door to be the ultimate line of defence in the fight against the virus. Staying indoors not only prevents your exposure to it but, if you are an asymptomatic carrier of Covid-19, it will protect those people you would inadvertently pose a risk to do so.
