Christmas is going to be very different at MVDC this year but we didn’t think it was fair that the Dorking and Ashtead and Leatherhead Besoms should miss out just because the Housing team are unable to hold their legendary raffle!
So we have set up two Give.Net pages, one for each charity and we would like to try and reach £250.00 for each.
The Besom charity was established in 1986, and there are now over 30 Besoms operating across the country including two here in Mole Valley. They make such a difference to people’s lives as they are able to pass on excellent quality items such as white goods, beds, bedding, furniture, and other household pieces to individuals and families who have been referred to them by the Housing team.
There is more information in the links below but we thought it would be great if teams could come up with fun ways to raise money for local people who are possibly moving in to a place to call home for the first time.
For creative ideas of how to fundraise, think about setting yourself a challenge based on your hobbies or things that you enjoy. Why not set up a knitting marathon, organise a virtual dinner party, or draw peoples portraits to raise money for charity, it is entirely up to you….!! Alternatively MVDC will be celebrating Christmas on the 17th December so you could donate to join in with the quiz or to wear fancy dress for the day!! Even if you choose to put in what you would have spent on Christmas cards or Secret Santa every penny counts.
The raffle money is usually split between the two charities so please make sure that whatever you raise is donated via both the links. It is easy to donate but you will need to nominate someone to make the donation via their own account if you are raising funds as a team. Individual donations can be made by simply clicking on the links, inputting a few details and using your visa or debit card.
