Professional Qualifications and Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships offer people a structured and supported training programme that gives them a chance to work towards a recognised qualification. It helps people gain the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to succeed in their chosen career. This type of “hands-on” training gives people a real chance to put their new skills into practice and to gain more confidence in their roles.

These Apprenticeship Standards are open to all staff as a way to progress their careers. Apprenticeship Standards are under continuous development therefore managers and employees to check with the HR team whether a desired qualification can be obtained through an apprenticeship.   This opportunity is available to all employees, regardless of age or how long they have worked for MVDC.

This is a superb opportunity to expand your knowledge, skills and professional development. The attached guidance provides information about how you could benefit from a work-based qualification and how the scheme works. We would encourage you to discuss these opportunities with your manager during your 1:1 and PDR meetings.

A list of current apprenticeship standards ready for delivery can be found here

Please take time to read the attached information and contact HR for further information and guidance on arranging work-based training.
