The Chairman will be raising the Commonwealth flag for Commonwealth Day on Monday 13th March at 10am outside Pippbrook. All Councillors and staff are welcome to join! We will be congregating at 9.55am by the flag pole.
Commonwealth Day 2023 marks the tenth anniversary of the signing of the Commonwealth Charter. The event is now celebrated in 38 countries across the globe. The theme for this year is “Forgoing a sustainable and peaceful common future” The theme combines the active commitment of member states to support the promotion of peace, prosperity and sustainability, especially through climate action, so as to secure a better future for our young people and improve lives of all Commonwealth citizens.
The flag will remain raised for the whole day.
