District Council’s Network – Staff Development Programme 2023

The District Councils’ Network is currently seeking applications from District Councils for its Staff Development Programme (SDP) which will be taking place in 2023.

The SDP has four main themes:

  1. Help participants to become more familiar with the key policy and delivery issues facing councils and wider partners and give them the strategic knowledge they need to succeed within local government.
  2. Help participants develop the skills to deal with the changing landscape of local government and become a leader.
  3. Provide participants with a Chief Executive or senior officer mentor for support, guidance and advice.
  4. Develop their experience of working with central government and understanding of national policy and priorities.

Applicants need to be sponsored by the Chief Executive or SLT and MVDC will support releasing you to attend events arranged by the DCN, as well as meeting with your assigned mentor, to ensure you get as much out of the programme as you can.

As this programme is very popular, an application form does need to be submitted and the deadline is 6pm on Friday 16th December.

More details about the programme can be viewed here.

And if you are interested in the DCN Staff Development Programme for 2023, please let your SLT lead as soon as possible and before SLT meets at 11am this coming Wednesday, 14th December.
