Pay Award Update

Further to the Molly notification on 15th November, we are pleased to confirm that the pay award for 2022/23 has been settled through the national pay bargaining process and pay for this financial year will now be amended to reflect this.

The full pay award has been settled at a £1,925 increase to each scale point.

As a Council that operates under local terms and conditions, MVDC is not subject to National Joint Council agreements in relation to terms and conditions. MVDC does, however, commit to award a cost of living rise equivalent to at least the Local Government national pay award each year. As a result of this commitment, this year any additional amount owing (above the 2.6% added to MVDC pay scales in April) will be added to each scale point and backdated to 1 April 22.

Under local terms and conditions, MVDC’s annual leave entitlements will remain at their current amounts: 24 days on commencement of employment, rising by 1 day per year up to a maximum of 28 days after 5 years (pro rata for part time working). We will continue to monitor annual leave entitlements nationally and review MVDC entitlements regularly with a view to continuing to provide a competitive employment package.
