Staff Hub Update

At Staff Hub this week we discussed a range of topics:

Health and Safety – Staff Hub have a role as the H&S committee for MVDC. This week we discussed the importance of reporting “near misses”. The H&S triangle demonstrates how unchanged behaviour can result in a more serious incident – studies show that 600 near misses could lead to 10 serious incidents. Reporting a near miss is really easy and could make a huge difference so don’t forget to report it here: Report a Near Miss.

Wellbeing – we have so much out there to support staff in maintaining their wellbeing and mental health at work and beyond!  Please have Wellbeing as a standing agenda item on your team meetings so that if anyone has anything to raise they can find the help and support that is available. October is menopause awareness month, more on that to follow….

The Great Big Green Week – ran at the end of September and so far we there has been lots of positive feedback from those who have seen the window in the Break Out area at Pippbrook.  There was a target of 30 pledges and 48 were made: if you have not pledged yet you can still do so here: we-are-do-nation-mole-valley-district-council-great-big-green-week.  All feedback is very welcome so if you have any suggestions please contact our Sustainability and Climate Change Officer, Lottie here: Charlotte.Fandrejewski@molevalley.gov.uk.

Staff social events – the date for the Mole Valley Christmas day will be announced very soon, watch this space to find out what festive activities to expect….
