Hot Weather Warning

There is a heatwave expected later this week.

Please be aware in this hot weather of how you can keep cool and stay hydrated:

  • Keep drinking water throughout the day
  • Consider your journeys and travel safely, take care when driving
  • Avoid travelling or setting out on long walks in the heat, stay out of the sun between 11am – 3pm
  • Take drinking water with you if you go out
  • Wear appropriate sunscreen and a hat if you are outside for long periods and if you are feeling unwell seek medical attention

There is also a risk of wildfires so please be extra careful if lighting a fire or BBQ, or if possible abstain from using them during the heatwave.

Symptoms such as dizziness, loss of appetite, headaches and excess sweating can all be signs of heatstroke, more details on this and further advice on how to cope from the NHS.
