Pay award 2023/24

“Dear Colleague

Each year in the lead up to the Budget setting Council meeting it is my task to set the pay award for the following year. I must admit that this year it has been more difficult than normal. In particular, SLT was very conscious of the cost of living crisis and the impact that this is having on all of us. After considering a number of different options we are pleased to confirm that £2,000 will be added to each scale point of the MVDC Pay Scales, effective from April 2023. This salary increase will apply to MVDC employees where salaries are set in line with MVDC Pay Scale.

MVDC has committed to employees paid within the MVDC Pay Scales receiving an annual cost of living increase that this will be at least equal to the national award, despite opting out of all other national terms and conditions. The national pay bargaining process for 2023/24 is unlikely to conclude until later in the year. If this process concludes at an amount higher than a £2,000 pay increase on each scale point, pay scales would be amended and backdated accordingly”
