YMCA East Surrey are working with Surrey County Council to provide local businesses with help in improving staff health and wellbeing and recently provided free health checks to MVDC staff. Great news! We have further checks available to all MVDC staff. These will be at Pippbrook (Reigate Road) on Thursday 1 December.
They are designed for people aged 40 and over and places will be offered on a first come first served basis. If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity you can sign up for an available slot at the following link:
NHS Health Checks for overs 40s
The check takes about 20 minutes and are carried out by a trained health advisor. They are designed to tell you whether you are at higher risk developing certain health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease and stroke and gives advice on how to prevent these risk factors.
The NHS Health Check includes the measurements of the following: cholesterol, blood pressure, body mass index, and associated lifestyle factors such as physical activity, alcohol consumption and smoking status.
