Leader of Mole Valley District Council, Councillor Stephen Cooksey said, “It’s been a difficult year and many lives have been changed since the virus first arrived in the UK.  I remain proud of what we have achieved as a district council and as a partner with our whole community, working together to keep Mole Valley safe.

“We have summarised the quantifiable work completed during the pandemic year by Mole Valley District Council officers.  This is by no means all we have done, our work in outreach, in talking to people, in housing people and in assisting our businesses and residents who have been hit hard has been all encompassing and goes on.

“Since January 2021 we have been working with Central Surrey Voluntary Action on implementing the Mole Valley Community Champions scheme. Our Covid Champions assisting with distributing key information about the pandemic, vaccinations and testing across their networks. They play an important role in the fight against misinformation and liaising with hard to reach community groups. If you would like to become one of Mole Valley’s Covid Champions please sign up here.”

“We would like again to thank everyone in the district for supporting each other so readily and stepping up as a community to reach those who did not have friends or family locally to support them.  All our charitable groups and partners who have played such a key part in our district’s response and of course to every individual who stayed at home for so long to keep others safe.

“As we look towards the country opening up even further in the coming weeks, we wish you all a very happy summertime, please keep taking care of each other and our beautiful district.”
