Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) has secured £468K of funding through a government grant to carry out carbon reduction measures at its theatre Dorking Halls and Pippbrook office building.
The Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme funds projects that encourage green investment and carbon reduction within the public sector. MVDC is one of the few councils in Surrey to be successful in securing the grant.
The proposed works, which will be considered by Council at the end of this month, include the installation of energy-saving LED lighting and variable speed drive motors at Dorking Halls. Air source heat pumps will also be installed at both Dorking Halls and the Pippbrook office. These are energy efficient as they use heat from the outside air to heat a building and its water.
