Staffing for the May 2021 Elections

The Democratic & Electoral Services team are busy preparing for the Police & Crime Commissioner, Surrey County Council and Local Elections on Thursday 6 May 2021, against the backdrop of the Coronavirus pandemic*.

We are short of a few Poll Clerks to staff our polling stations. You do not need to have any previous experience as full training will be given. Internal members of staff do not need to take time off to work on Elections, but you do need your manager’s approval. Family members and friends (aged 18 or over) are also welcome to volunteer.

The hours: from 6.30am until 10.30pm (approximately).

The rate of pay: £242 – £257 (depending on which elections are held at the polling station you are allocated to).

If you are interested in getting involved, please email Joe Blythman as soon as possible but no later than Friday 5 March.

*All our polling stations will be a COVID-19 safe space for all our staff and the public. All staff will be provided with PPE and all staff and the public visiting our polling stations will be required to follow the latest COVID-19 advice in line with the Government and Public Health England Guidelines.
