Are You Clinically Extremely Vulnerable?

Please notify your manager if you are informed you are Clinically Extremely Vulnerable – requirement to shield has been extended to the end of March

A new Covid-19 Population Risk Assessment has enabled identification of a further category of people – who will shortly be notified that they are Clinically Extremely Vulnerable and should ‘shield’.

This is based on increased knowledge of risk factors which, together, mean an individual is more likely to become more seriously ill if infected with Coronavirus. These people will also be given priority eligibility for vaccination.

If you fall into this category, and get a letter or other notification from your GP or medical adviser that you are Clinically Extremely Vulnerable, please inform your manager straight away.

You will also be asked to provide a copy of the notification to your manager and forwarded to hr.admin@molevalley.gov.uk

The notification should purely confirm your status and does not need to include any details of medical or personal conditions.

At an appropriate point (i.e. when the requirement to shield ends) fitness to resume your normal duties will need to be risk assessed through occupational health.

Please note ‘shielding’ has also been extended until the end of March – and, as things stand, individuals must continue to shield until this time even if they have had the vaccine.

Your manager or the HR team are available to talk to you about any other support you may need.
