It is National Apprenticeship week which is a good opportunity to consider undertaking a work-based apprenticeship.
Develop your skills
Enhance your knowledge
Expand your interests
Achieve a qualification
Succeed in your chosen field
We encourage our employees to make the most of the opportunities available. Undertaking an apprenticeship allows you to work in your role while increasing the skills, knowledge and behaviours you need to succeed and develop in your chosen field.
Discover a vast range of apprenticeships by looking on the Institute for Apprenticeships website. There is an apprenticeship to suit every department at Mole Valley.
If you are considering broadening your skills, you should discuss learning opportunities, such as apprenticeships, with your manager as part of your 121 or PDR. Research your desired course and discuss these options with your manager to see whether you are able to take this opportunity on.
Please be aware that universities offering degree level apprenticeships will be recruiting for their September intake soon, so you may want to consider these types of courses as soon. Of the academic year does not meet your needs there are often other learning providers that offer more flexible start dates. Search the Apprenticeship website for different learning providers and start dates.
Work based apprenticeships can be available to all employees, regardless of age or how long you have worked at MVDC.
As these courses are part government funded MVDC can support workplace apprenticeship by funding your course, working with your apprenticeship training provider and assisting your manager to provide the learning support you need. You will also be invited to join our MVDC apprenticeship cohort to provide further support and guidance from colleagues during your studying. In return you will need to demonstrate commitment to your development and meeting your learning objectives as well as using your newfound skills to support your role.
