We are now in a further period of national lockdown. This means you must not go out to work unless it is unreasonable for you to do your job from home. The guidance says “Public sector employees working in essential services . . . . should continue to go into work” and that visits may still take place in other people’s home where it is necessary. For MVDC staff the following arrangements apply:
For any site visits or patrols: These must continue to take place in strict compliance with risk assessments. You are allowed to enter premises/homes if this is required but only if there is no alternative, with appropriate PPE, and after safety checks/enquiries conducted in advance – see the Risk Assessment associated with the job that you do for further details or discuss with your manager if you need further explanation. You must ensure you have read the relevant Risk Assessment and follow it at all times, asking questions for anything that you do not understand or cannot find.
For Pippbrook: Only those services/people where there has been prior agreement to attend the office may do so and only for the morning*. For anyone else who needs to drop into the office for a specific task, this must only be done if it is essential, it must be pre-agreed with your manager, it must be restricted to the shortest possible time needed to do the task and you must follow the Office Rules at all times. For other premises including Dorking Halls and Park House, separate rules will apply but any office presence must be agreed with your manager as essential.
Please note face coverings must be worn when moving around any of the Mole Valley buildings unless you are exempt from the requirement to wear. See here for further guidance.
(None of the above takes precedence over any requirement to self-isolate for any health/Coronavirus reasons. For example, if you have any reason to believe you need to self-isolate you must not go out to work and you must inform your manager; and if you have been given medical advice to ‘shield’ you must ensure your manager is aware and follow the advice given).
The full government guidance is here.
*A first aider and a manager will be present on site until 1.00. For those based at other locations – Park House, the Fairfield Centre or Dorking Halls, your manager will discuss arrangements with you.
If you have any questions about the impact of these changes on your working arrangements please discuss with your manager or ask the HR team who will seek further clarification for you.
