“I promised a further update as we move towards the national lockdown tomorrow.
“I can advise that we are putting in place support for the vulnerable in the Mole Valley community and are working with our partners at Surrey County Council and the voluntary sector to ensure those that need help are reached. Surrey’s Community Helpline number 0300 200 1008 is open from 9am until 5pm, Monday to Friday.
“Support for businesses is being put in place. The government has announced that new grants will be introduced for businesses required to close because of the new lockdown restrictions. We are now considering guidance from government which arrived with us this morning. We already have details for the majority of the businesses who would have received grants under the previous scheme and we will be emailing them all, inviting them to complete a simple form which will allow them to confirm eligibility. We will also be writing to new businesses who were not eligible for the previous grants.
