Mole Valley Life Is “Carer Aware”

As part of Mole Valley’s Life’s (MVL) ongoing commitment to help support unpaid carers in our community and to raise the profile of the invaluable care they provide, the team have completed their online Surrey County Council “Carer Aware” training. Alongside this, MVL are also piloting the Surrey Carers Prescription (SCP) with their Lifeline alarm installation and support teams.

Rachel O’Reilly, Mole Valley District Council’s Corporate Head of Service for Community said, “Working daily with the older and vulnerable in Mole Valley, MVL are ideally placed to help identify the estimated 9,000 unknown carers in our district. Using their “Carer Aware” training, MVL’s Lifeline alarm installation and support teams will be able to recognise these previously unknown, unsung heroes and then using the SCP, refer them to the available support, allowing carers to carry out their caring responsibilities, whilst critically, also maintaining their own wellbeing.”
