58. Can I work outside the home if I am a contact of a covid positive person? (updated 1st April 2022)

Household contacts

If a staff member is a household contact of someone who has covid-19 or has stayed overnight with them, it is up to the manager to risk assess the sitaution.

You must therefore make sure you speak to your manager before going out for work purposes.

The full context will be considered – bearing in mind the job that you do and the people that you work with.

Non Household Contacts

If a staff member has been informed they have been a contact of someone who is infected (but is a non-household contact and hasn’t stayed overnight with that person) generally they can continue to work out of the home if required unless the manager has given prior instruction otherwise.

This position was updated on 1st April 2022 in line with new public health guidance.
