35. Do I get paid if I have to self-isolate but I am not ill?

If you or someone you are living with has symptoms you must not go out for work purposes during the period of their self-isolation (even if you are “doubly jabbed”).

Please see the guidance here for the timescales. (Note the ‘doubly jabbed’ concession will not apply for MVDC staff if you live with the infected individual).

Your self-isolation period should mirror their self-isolation period. This can potentially be as little as 5 days (following changes implemented on 17th Jan 2022), however we do ask that you are particularly vigilant for the full 10 day period (starting the day after the household member you are living with started their symptoms or tested positive – whichever is earlier). This means please do daily lateral flow tests during this period and take extra care with regards to social distancing particularly with people you know are more vulnerable.

However, if you have to stay home and yourself are not ill, we still need you to work.  If your normal job does not lend itself to home-working please speak to your manager.

MVDC is doing a variety of additional and different things to support the community during this time and there will almost certainly be something you can do, even if it is different to the normal job that you were doing before Coronavirus.  These continue to be exceptional times.

Many thanks to those who are adapting to the situation and helping in whatever way they can.

If you, yourself, become ill or infected with Coronavirus, you must follow the separate procedure.
