Secondment Opportunity

Salary range: £40,227 – £44,619. This is a secondment opportunity only and the successful candidate will be on their own organisations Terms and Conditions for the duration of the secondment.

Location: Currently working from home with a requirement to attend Quadrant Court in Woking, Fairmount House in Leatherhead and any other Partnership office building when safe to do so.

Development Officer – Surrey Safeguarding Children’s Partnership

Secondment opportunity available with immediate start:

We are looking for a driven, enthusiastic and skilled officer to support the work of the Surrey Safeguarding Children’s Partnership (SSCP). The candidate must have a strong background in Partnership working and children’s safeguarding and experience of driving forward and implementing change. The postholder will provide effective business management to the SSCP as well as supporting the development and delivery of key partnership priorities and project work through developing strong relationships with partners internally and externally. The role will give the right candidate the opportunity to be part of a structure that makes a real difference to children living in Surrey. The post will report to the Partnership Development Manager and will be for a minimum of 6-months. 

Purpose of the role:

  • To effectively support the management of the Surrey Safeguarding Children Partnership (SSCP), the Executive Business group and their respective committees and sub-groups;
  • Working with the Surrey Independent Scrutineer and the Partnership Development Manager to ensure the continued development and implementation of projects delivered and commissioned by the Surrey Safeguarding Children’s Partnership;

Key responsibilities:

To ensure a clear and coherent approach to business planning for the SSCP including progress monitoring of the new Safeguarding arrangements (Working Together 2018);

To ensure the SSCP has close links with all partners in Surrey who work with children through a range of initiatives and projects which develop closer working relationships;

To promote collaboration and innovation with partners to develop and maintain effective multi-agency safeguarding practice and developing and promoting positive working relationships;

To work with sensitive information about children and families and keep task and outcome focussed supporting the Serious Case Review process and undertaking Safeguarding Practice Reviews as appropriate;

Work with the Partnership team to develop engagement activities and specific communications to share with all partners, professionals and families in Surrey to ensure the work of the Partnership is promoted.
