19. Do I need PPE for the office?

Unless there are particular risks that are unique to you or the job that you do, you do not require any special personal protective equipment (PPE) to work at your desk. You will however need a face covering as you are required to wear this to walk to or from your desk and if you are attending anybody in reception or required to go into somebody’s home – you will need a Type IIR mask. These will be supplied by your manager or stored in reception. Many desks are between 1 and 2 meters apart. You may sit at an alternative desk if you are uncomfortable with the distance you are from your colleague. In particular – if you are pregnant you must inform your manager so that he/she can arrange or you to have a medical risk assessment with particular attention paid to your last trimester (28 weeks plus). You are reminded of the need to follow the Office Rules at all times. See section below if you have concerns.
